The Babyfi Infant Hollow Headrest is made out of food grade materials. The patented mesh hollow structure on the inside allows for maximum breathability and air circulation while the ergonomic design provides a soft and cradling feel for the baby's head yet it does not collapse under the weight of the head even though it's completely hollow on the inside. The headrest case is made out of organic muslin cotton that is widely woven and breathable
The Babyfi Infant Headrest is completely hollow on the inside and ensures optimal airflow and circulation, reducing the risk of suffocation. The risk would be the same as the risk imposed by the crib slats in the actual crib. The product follows all regulations issued by the US CPSC and it is tested by a US CPSC approved lab. The Babyfi Hollow Headrest does not fall under any regulatory bans and is the only breathable headrest available for sale in the US
The product was inspired by the risk related to flathead syndrome and the need to prevent this. The company's founder had premature twins who were at risk of developing flat heads (plagiocephaly) and after not being able to find a safe product on the market, she got together with a pediatrician and a materials engineer to design and patent the Babyfi Headrest. However, the product has not gone through FDA trials yet and it's not considered a medical device as this process is very expensive and too high of a cost for a small company like ours at this time. We hope to do this in the future and complete all medical trials requested by the FDA. Until then we are selling this product as a consumer product regulated under the US Consumer Protection Commission. The product is not intended to correct any medical conditions.

The Babyfi Hollow Headrest is not impacted by this ban as the incline level for the headrest is below 8 degrees which is safe for babies and fully compliant with US CPSC requirements. Also this product doesn't fall under any other regulatory bans such as the cushioned pillow US ban, as this product is not a pillow since it doesn't have any stuffing on the inside making it completely safe and breathable.
